Jesus, Guest of our hearts

"I saw our Lord Jesus poor, sad, suffering and searching for lodging, and He said to me: 'I am searching for a lodging, a home and nobody wants to receive me. As soon as I present Myself, they chase Me away. Even you sometimes drive Me out from your heart... Oh, if only I could find someone who would but work solely for My glory, I would do everything for him!"

Hi, pia49!

I'm glad you liked the entry. You're absolutely right. Bl Mariam was renowned for her humility and child-like simplicity. The sisters in Bethlehem are currently working on a translation of her letters into English and other languages. My friend, the extern sister there, will be sending me a copy as soon as it's available. Meanwhile, I'll keep posting from her maxims and other books.

I wish you (and all the blog readers) a blessed Advent. Please pray for me.

I also after reading this post, have searched all over for the Little Arab. Please, is there anything that can be bought, that contains her writings?

Hi, Anthony!
Most writings of Bl Mary (Mariam)of Jesus Crucified are available in French from the Carmels in the Holy Land. To my knowledge, only two very small biographies and a small hard-to-get book on some of her thoughts are available in English through the Carmelites in Eugene, Oregon.

God bless you!

I found this beautiful-beautiful video about the Carmelite Nuns in Bethlehem at Bl. Mary of Jesus Crucified convent. Perhaps you've seen it, but it's wonderful...
